Strong Heart update

Finished 2 days of Teacher Training for Strong Heart's nannies, teachers, children's ministry directors, missionaries, and pastors. We also visited a church we trained last year. We watched them teach. We then had a couple of hours of feedback, questions, and new material. The last few days have been fruitful. We are tired but encouraged.

Finished Training at the Center

Finished training at the Teacher Training Center. They​ shared with us why they love Fifty5five. Simplicity-the concepts are simple for children.
We are approachable. They feel like we are family. We are Committed to training teachers. They like our team teaching approach. Creativity is what they love. That was a missing component for them. And they love that we are equipping a local team to take over. 

We are now on our way to Kore on the outskirts of Addis. We are asking for prayer over our luggage on the roof, safe travels, good sleeping arrangements, and prepared hearts for the next training.

Day 3 of Teacher Training

Day 3 of Teacher Training complete at the training center. We fished teaching and watch them put on an after school program with their newly acquired skills. They were amazing. Tomorrow we finish testing them. They are asking that we grade this course. In the afternoon we head to our next training site.

Mouse in the house!

We may have been a bit tired today with the extra traveler in our guest house, a mouse.  I can neither confirm or deny that one of us was standing on the bed while the others try to get it out. Later in the night it met its demise from one of the locals.
Today was day 2 at the Teach Training Center. They learned about Love and Logic, personalities, pupets, and had to come up with their own skits. Fantastic.

Day 1 Teacher Training

We just completed day 1 at the teacher training center. We've updated our training. They were very interactive. We've been asked to grade them so it puts a new spin on things. They were sent out to create a lesson with props. We are looking forward to seeing them tomorrow. Everyone is doing well.

Update from London

Theresa is unable to post so she asked me to post in her behalf from a text I received:
God's hand is truly upon us.  We had a 10 hour layover in London on Saturday and we were going to go into the city however we had a luggage issue that kept us in the airport.  We had a peace about it.  Later we learned of the attack on the London Bridge.  We stand in awe of His mercy and protection.

2017 Ethiopia

Our team of 4 is heading out tomorrow. I've got so much to do, I haven't packed, and I'm working today. I'm seriously multitasking: lunch break, pedicure, and writing a lesson. A blessed skill indeed.
