Spread out over 3 churches and taught Sunday school and shared testimonies.
The heavens opened up today to a terential down pour. I wore a sweat
shirt today in Africa.
The roads are so muddy and cratered so I hope the vans can get out.
Construction guys to construction site....I think they will have to
walk in. We may go to a school tomorrow to teach. We'll see if the
weather co operates.
Prayers for Gods direction for Monday and tuesday due to us having to
reajust our training schedule.

Finished A 5 day VBS in 3 days. Just rolling with the punches and
delivering God's word. It was awesome! They tried to reduce kids to
300 and God wanted double; over 600 attended. Glory to God!
We were asked to attend a funeral and James shared a message. We were
able to pray over the family.
We went to see both houses that were built. I can't tell you how
humbled I was to watch one woman wail and praise the Lord. The Lord
has worked mightily!!!

friday update

1st day of VBS went wonderful; beautiful children and so well behaved.
We've learned that we need to pack 5 days of VBS into 3. Blessed are
those who are flexible. Pray for the kiddos and us as it is really
hot and we'll have a long day tomorrow.
Mary and Shannon got to stay with the team today which was a blessing.
The construction team progressed well on the house today.
Alicia believes she may have gotten heat exhaustion today. Everyone
else is doing well. Pray for well hydrated bodies.

Housing update

1 house completely built. 2nd house partially built.
The second house is a widow with 8 children and no food. The house is well underway. Blankets provided and food on the way.

Day 3 of active work

Final day of teacher training today. Always a small wrench thrown in but all par for the course on the mission field. But as always flexibility was practiced and the message God desired went out. Jay's magic tricks were a hit. Pray that they take this new information and put it into practice.
Midwife finished up today. Mercy hospital donated supplies for the midwives and the received them today.
Evangelism door to door is quoted as 'amazing!". People are so open to accept Christ. God equips with the words and readied hearts.
More later on the construction.
VBS starts tomorrow so please pray the schools release for this event.

Update

Second day of teacher training. They were having fun and getting the vision. Last day of training is tomorrow. Please keep it in prayer.
Mid wife training continued and with the Lords success. Tomorrow is the final day.
More construction going on on a mud hut. Our guys now have some new skills. Please pray for the roads to dry up so the materials can be delivered. They had to walk in 2 miles today because the van got stuck.
Our evangelists team witnessed some tough stuff with a dead infant at one location and a sick little boy at another. Please lift them up in prayer.
Food was more recognizable....whoo! Still eating in the village pray it doesn't cause any sickness.
Here is a de lima: its too hot to close the window but too scared not to as the bats are squealing outside our window.

Finally

I'm back on line....yeah. Amazing to see the Lord at work. Sunday we split up to 3 different churches. Some shared testimonies and some shared the message for the day. It was amazing to witness the passionate worship and prayers.
Today we split up in 3 teams. 1 team fixed a house and made arrangements for an additioal home to be built by locals out of funds we we're able to raise. The materials for the house we're about 500 dollars. Tomorrow the access what the will do for the next house. There was a team that was blessed by door to door evangelizing and led some to Christ. The third team did teacher training. The numbers were not what was expected but I know more will come tomorrow! It was incredible to see their faces light up. It was fun to see the playful sides of the Pastors (several are attending).
Everyone is doing well. One construction cut but nothing a little duct tape can't fix!
Please continue to pray for super immunity as we are eating 1 meal in the village.
Please pray for my heart as it is so raw with emotion over those who don't eat often.
Also again that we are in the center of God's will and no one elses agendas.
Prayer against spiritual warfare.

First glitch

As all good mission trips go there has to be some type of glitch. We encounter glitch number one; it was a name on the flight itinerary different than the passport. Its all part of the airport ministry; there we are praying. We have a big God and He worked out the details as He always does. Its interesting watching the veterans nonchalant attitude. The work will go on. Until the next wireless connection....

Tentative Schedule

Thursday 2/18 - Depart Sacramento 7:00am. Travel thru Portland, thru Amsterdam, Arrive in Nairobi Friday Feb 19 8:25pm (9:25am us time zone)

Friday 2/19- late arrival, staying in Nairobi at PCEA guesthouse.

Saturday 2/20 - shopping for supplies and waiting for luggage to arrive (you can't imagine the amount of suitcases we travel with due to all the supplies we take; 40-50 pieces).

Sunday Feb 21- Travel to Othoo (6-8 hours of driving on pristine roads I'm sure=). To find this on google earth the best you'll come up with is Ahero near Lake Victoria.

Monday Feb 22- Wed Feb 24 Teacher training (teachers come from all around to participate in this training. Teachers will receive tools to present the Love of Jesus Christ to children by providing the tools to create and conduct a thriving children's ministry). Some of our team will also be building a birthing center and a nurse will be giving midwife training.

Thursday Feb 25-Monday March 1 Vacation Bible School

Tuesday March 2 - Debriefing. Its difficult to go from a third world country back to the privileged life in the US. This debriefing time gives time for prayer and discussion to get us reintroduced to life as we once knew it; yet it will never be the same.

Wednesday March 3 - Personal time.

Thursday March 4 - Depart Nairobi at 10:50pm (11:50am US time)

Friday March 5- arrive in Sacramento 6:38 pm.
