Sweetness!

VBS is always such a sweet treat for us. Today it was richer as we served a long time friend, Pastor John.  Add to that, a friend from Ethiopia joined us.  Israel interpreted for us in Ethiopia but did not get to experience VBS so it made it perfect. Off to the airport now.

Teacher Training Wrap Up

Wrapped up the last of teacher training today.  Diligent note taking teachers document an abbreviated training.   It was a blessing to train for Pastor John and Kate's teachers as well as some other additional school teachers and sunday school teachers.
Tomorrow is our final day in Nairobi and we will be doing vbs.  Pray for those little hearts to be open and receptive.

Time to get back to work

We enjoyed our day of rest and are back to Nairobi.   Please pray for Teacher training tomorrow.  Pray for Becky and Linda to be energized.  Also for Pastor John who has been driving for many days, interpreting,  and now coordinate the final 2 days in Nairobi.

Blessed are the flexible.  Today we saw a different batch of kids (about 370). We had the same response from teachers and kids as yesterday. Part way through a skit outside it began to pour rain and we had to run in doors (personally,  I was grateful for a shower). God was glorified,  teachers were open to new ideas, and many children raised their hands for Jesus including a young Muslim girl. What a blessing. There was also a principal from another school who invited us back. Tomorrow is a travel day back to Kenya.  Please pray safe travels. 

VBS

Today we provided a VBS for 600+ kids.  A large number accepted Christ.  There were some school teachers that seemed rather standoffish until they saw the training. Afterwards they were excited to try some new techniques in their classroom.   Everyone is doing well.

Teacher Training in the "bush"

After 24 hours of flying and 18 1/2 hours by car we arrived in  Sengerema.  It is in the "bush" according to Liston. It is a drive and ferry ride and another drive out of Mwanza Tanzania.  We've completed Teacher Training and graduated 35 teachers and Pastors.  The coordinating Pastors then commissioned them to carry forth the teaching to children and other teachers.  Tomorrow we begin VBS. 

Traveling on a budget

Who booked this fight?  I thought we were back in Nicaragua.  
We got off to a great start.  Coffee in hand onto our little prop engine plane.  A sweet time of fellowship to Portland.   Next stop Amsterdam.

Masai Mara update

Teacher training was entertaining as Becky costumed (long beard) up a Masaiman that wore his traditional tribe attire. 
Attendance wasn't large but powerful and effective.   They are fired up to set up Sunday Schools.
VBS attracted 750 kids.  Wowzer!
One more full day of VBS left in the Masai Mara.
