It was so difficult to blog via text and really communicate what an amazing trip it was.  I just wanted to take a moment to share some of the ways the Lord grew us during this trip.
First of all we never come away unchanged.  This was the most physically demanding trip I think we've ever encountered.  The 24-27 hour plane rides are cake in comparison to the roads.  Prior to the torrential rains the roads were very jarring due to the ruts.  Post rain we slid around and barely escaped gullies.  The first night we were stuck and had to walk about 2 miles in the dark, rain, and mud in a rural area of Kenya.  2 miles doesn't sound daunting but add 50lb backpacks and about 30lbs of mud to your feet.  Add the dark and the fear of the unknown after the 10 hours we just spent in the car.  What did we take away from it...trusting the Lord and perseverance.
Each day was surrendered into God's hands.  We were ready and willing when the time wopld come and He said yes.  Due to the road conditions and the rains we learned to fully wait upon the Lord.  This was a great lesson.
A 1 1/2 hour hike up the hill in the mud to a church plus the initial night hike helped the locals to know that we aren't spoiled Americans but willing to endure for the Lord.
We leaned flexibility as we had to continually tweak our schedule to accommodate God's plan and not mans.
We watched hearts change rapidly.  Teachers trained and enthusiastic.  We watched little one's pile in and have a chance to hear and respond to the Gospel.  We were blessed to see the food multiply to feed the 500 children and 50 teachers over many days.  We were and still are in awe of God.  He is so unique in how He chooses to carry out His perfect plan.  We are just so blessed to be apart of it!
Thank you for your faithful support, prayers, and encouragement!  We did it.  This missionary team of supporters, prayer warriors, and travelers were obedient to the calling and allowed the Lord to use us all to carry out His perfect plan.
